This course is designed to develop and further increase participant’s communication and negotiation skills across the rail industry and improve safety critical communications behaviours.

This course will revise, refresh and reset your existing skills in communication and practice applying effective safety critical communications behaviours to the rail industry. You will learn how to accurately communicate, provide timely and accurate rail operational information, and respond to unplanned situations or events appropriately

  • Provide timely and accurate operational information and coordination
  • Communicate accurate operational information
  • Contingency management skills to respond to unplanned situations
  • Issue and record rail operational information

Entry Requirements

The pre-requisites for this course are as follows:

  • TLIF2080 Safely Access the Rail Corridor (RISI)

 

Language Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N)

__________________

Participants will undergo an LL&N assessment at the commencement of the course. This course requires participants to have LL&N levels to be able to:

  • Read and understand work safety signs and symbols
  • Read and understand workplace policies and procedures
  • Communicate identified hazards

  • Practical Assessment
  • Role play scenarios

  • This course is facilitated via a face to face 1 day workshop
