** ONLINE ** QR3.15 Working in the Electrified Territory (WET)
This course will provide contractors and other authorised personnel with a general knowledge of the traction system and of electrical related risks and hazards that they may be exposed to during the course of their duties.
Successful completion of this training is mandatory to perform work safely on or near high voltage electrical apparatus, in all electrified railways within Queensland Rail (unless the work is performed under direct supervision). This training does not grant access to railway corridors or facilities.
**This course is valid for personnel looking to work on the Queensland Rail Network.

This workshop is completed online via a Teams session. Requirements for successfully attending this workshop are as follows:

- Describe how the electric traction system operates
- Identify common electrical and safety terminology
- Outline legislative obligations and requirements for working in the electrified territory and around the overhead line equipment
- Identify emergency situations and describe the process to be followed
Entry Requirements

Participants completing this course must hold the following Queensland Rail enterprise qualification:
- QR3.2 Safely Access the Rail Corridor
- This training must be completed with a Queensland Rail Licensed Provider. A Statement of Attainment only for TLIF0020 Safely access the rail corridor is not sufficient
Participants will also require a
- Rail Industry Worker Card
- Compliant Certificate of Fitness (Category 3 Rail Medical), including Drug & alcohol
- Queensland Rail Certificate of Achievement QR3.2 Safely access the rail corridor
Language Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N)

Participants undergo an assessment prior to commencement of training which assists us to identify any learning support which may be required. This course requires participants to have language‚ literacy and numeracy skill levels to be able to:
- Read and understand work safety signs and symbols
- Read and understand workplace policies, procedures and information
- Understand basic spoken English
- Communicate basic safety-related information

Recertification

Recertification Process:
- Before Expiry: Students must return to CERT for recertification before the expiry date to maintain their qualification.
- After Expiry: If the certificate has expired‚ students are required to re-sit the full Working in the electrified territory (WET) course at CERT.

Medical Requirement
CAT 3 Medical
A Category 3 Medical is an assessment designed to help non-safety critical workers make sure their health and fitness does not impact the rail network. The CAT 3 Medical tests your ability to operate safely in the rail corridor so you can hear instructions, move to a safe place, and maintain an awareness of your surroundings.
Category 3 Rail Medicals can be booked simultaneously when scheduling your course booking via the Enrolment button.
