NSW ARTC Track Vehicle Operator

The Track Vehicle Operator training course focuses on the skills and knowledge required to fixed signals, follow safeworking rules and operating procedures required by track vehicle operators to operate track vehicles.
This course covers the rules and procedures for working with fixed signals, work on track authorities and operating track vehicles using the normal method of safeworking in use.

This course is intended for persons who want a career in the rail industry performing the duties as a Track Vehicle Operator on the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) NSW Network.

NSW ARTC Track Examiner & Certifier

This course involves the skills and knowledge required to check and repair track geometry, examine track and right of way infrastructure in accordance with safeworking and regulatory requirements and workplace procedures.
It includes determining the job requirements, restoring track geometry, checking track compliance after work and completing required documentation.
This course also involves preparing for examination, examining track and right of way, analysing examination results and reporting findings, patrolling the track and right of way infrastructure, and recording identified defects.

Track Machine Operator (TMO) Medium/Heavy

Track Machine Operator Medium/Heavy will provide you with the skills and knowledge to travel a medium or heavy (over 10tonne) self-propelled track vehicle on a rail network in accordance with the network owner’s policies and procedures.

While the units of competency provided in this course are nationally recognised by most railways in Australia, additional operator-specific inductions and training may need to be completed before operating a Hi-Rail on individual rail networks
