This program involves the skills and knowledge required to undertake Track Force Protection Coordinator (TFPC) duties on the Victorian V/Line Network. This program provides instruction suitable for new entrants to the industry in addition to supplementing the current experience of existing workers.

  • TLIL3065 Implement track occupancy authority 
  • TLIC2081 Pilot rail traffic within work on track authority limits
  • TLIL3083 Implement a track work authority and manage rail traffic through worksites
  • TLIL3084 Implement a local possession authority
  • TLIW2037 Clip and secure points

Language Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N)

Participants undergo an assessment prior to commencement of training which assists us to identify any learning support which may be required. This course requires participants to have language, literacy and numeracy skill levels to be able to:

  • Read and understand work safety signs and symbols
  • Read and understand workplace policies, procedures and information
  • Understand basic spoken English
  • Communicate basic safety-related information

  • Theory Assessment (Closed Book)
  • On-Job Logbook (190 Hours)
  • Practical Assessment
  • * Practical Assessment Fee is $200.00

Delivery Method

  • This course is facilitated via a face to face workshop (5 days)
  • This course requires participants to complete an on-the-job workbook (160 hours), where the participant is guided by a qualified person. This is to be organised by the participant
  • Performance Assessment

Recertification

Recertification is required every two (2) years from the date of assessment.
Recertification takes eight (8) hours and can be scheduled as required.

Medical Requirement

CAT 3 Medical

A Category 3 Rail Medical, often referred to as a CAT 3 Medical, is an assessment designed to help non-safety critical workers make sure their health and fitness does not impact the rail network. The CAT 3 Medical tests your ability to operate safely in the rail corridor so you can hear instructions, move to a safe place, and maintain an awareness of your surroundings.
