This unit equips individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to deliver an effective first response to fire incidents. It is designed for workers in environments where prompt action may be critical before professional emergency responders arrive.
Participants will learn how to safely contain and extinguish minor fires, operate first-attack firefighting equipment including fire extinguishers, hose reels, and fire blankets and assist in coordinating emergency services or evacuation procedures when necessary.
Ideal for operators, frontline workers, or team members with basic firefighting skills working under supervision.

Participants undergo an assessment prior to commencement of training which assists us to identify any learning support which may be required. This course requires participants to have language, literacy and numeracy skill levels to be able to:
- Read and understand work safety signs and symbols
- Read and understand workplace policies, procedures and information
- Understand basic spoken English
- Communicate basic safety-related information
