Participants completing this course must hold the following AQF competency units:
- Category 1 Rail Medical
- TLIF0020 – Safely Access the Rail Corridor
- CPCWHS1001 โ Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry
- TLIF0023 Conduct track protection assessment
- TLIL0010 Implement a track occupancy authority
- TLIL3083 Implement a track work authority and manage rail traffic through worksites
- TLIL3084 Implement a local possession authority
- TLIW2037 Clip and secure points
- V/Line Handsignaller 2.2
- V/Line Handsignaller 3.2
- TLIF2081 Perform lookout duties
- TLIF2082 Perform handsignaller duties
Language Literacy and Numeracy (LL&N)

Participants undergo an assessment prior to commencement of training which assists us to identify any learning support which may be required. This course requires participants to have language, literacy and numeracy skill levels to be able to:
- Read and understand work safety signs and symbols
- Read and understand workplace policies, procedures and information
- Understand basic spoken English
- Communicate basic safety-related information

- This Recertification is facilitated via a face-to-face workshop
Recertification
_________________________
- 3 x Rail Safety Worksite Hazard Assessments (RSWHA)
- 2 x Track Warrants
- 2 x Permit Foul
The CERT Trainer and Assessor may request additional evidence to support the recertification process.
Recertification is required every two (2) years from the date of assessment.
Recertification takes eight (8) hours and can be scheduled as required.

Medical Requirement
CAT 1 Medical
This is the highest level of rail medical available and is for rail workers or contractors undertaking a safety critical role requiring a high level of attentiveness to their tasks and where sudden incapacity may result in a serious incident affecting the public or the rail network.
